HOW TO STUDY THE BIBLE

Imagine sitting under a "teacher" for years only to realize that he (or she) had no idea what they were talking about. You've spent years under the tutelage of this person only to discover that all you have learned is false teaching. Sound far fetched? It shouldn't! We've witnessed the horrors and devestation of false teachings from Jim Jones (The People's Temple), David Koresh (Branch Davidians), Marshall Applewhite (Heaven's Gate) just to list a few. In fact this is precisely what the Scriptures foretell of the last days, when the Apostle Paul wrote;

"But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith,
paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons..." (1 Tim.4:1)

he continues in 2 Tim.4:3-4 giving us the reason:

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;
but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers
in accordance to their own desires;
and will turn away their ears from the truth,
and will turn aside to myths.

This is why knowing how to study the Bible for yourself is so crucial. Trust me, when you stand before God it will be you alone, not your pastor, priest, rabbi or anyone else standing at your side (just you)! When the LORD ask you that question of why should He let you into His Kingdom, how will you reply? The answer will determine where you spend eternity. Remember there are no second chances (Heb.9:27)!

When it comes to studying the Bible there are a number of ways by which this can be accomplished they inculde:

1 - The Devotional Method of Bible Study                                               7 - The Word Study Method of Bible Study
2 - The Chapter Summary Method of Bible Study                                    8 - The Book Background Method of Bible Study
3 - The Character Quality Method of Bible Study                                     9 - The Book Survey Method of Bible Study

The challenge for most believers is not so much deciding on which method (of Bible Study) but rather needing a systematic step-by-step approach to Bible Study.  Well today is the day you can begin learning God's Word - The BIBLE.
